Canada’s Rental Conditions Grow More Favourable

As someone who values transparency and always puts the needs of my clients first, I pay close attention to trends that impact your real estate goals. It’s encouraging to see Canada’s rental conditions continuing to shift in favour of renters. According to the late-Q3 update, national asking rents for one- and two-bedroom units remained steady month-over-month in mid-Q3. While we’ve seen yearly declines, the national drop is now the smallest since early Q1 2025, which may signal the start of a more stable rental market across the country.

Vancouver still holds its place as the highest-priced rental market in the nation, while Edmonton offers the lowest average asking rents among the cities tracked. Calgary, meanwhile, sits comfortably in the middle—ranking 16th—giving renters a balanced set of choices as they compare options. Overall, we’re seeing a more renter-friendly landscape, with softer annual pricing and those early signs of stabilization after a long period of cooling.

If you’re navigating the rental or purchase market, my experience as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative and Real Estate Negotiation Expert is here to guide you with honesty and integrity, ensuring your best interests are always front and center.
